Truman Medical Center (TMC) Behavioral Health offers a wide array of services to help children and teens thrive. Our team of youth behavioral health specialists works with clients at our clinics, in schools and even in their homes.
Many of the children we treat face a range of challenges, including mental health conditions, emotional disturbances and behavioral issues. We help them cope with their feelings while helping them build confidence and self-esteem.
Our services include:
Medication management. Medications might be combined with therapy to treat some behavioral health issues.
Counseling. We offer individual, group and family therapy.
Case management. Case managers work with children in homes and in schools. Our case managers work with our young clients, helping them develop effective coping skills.
Assessment and evaluation. Our assessments include autism testing and diagnosis.
Employment. We help individuals with severe and persistent mental illness get and keep permanent, competitive jobs by networking with businesses that allow on-the-job training and support.
Peer support and mentorship. In many ways, a behavioral health issue is a family issue. That's why we offer emotional and practical support to children and their families through programs like F.A.I.T.H. Council (Families Advocating and Inspiring Through Hope) and the H.O.P.E. Council (Helping Our Peers Excel). Many of the people you'll meet in these programs have personal stories of recovery that inspire others.
