Frustrating. Many people say that's what it's like to live with hearing loss. A hearing problem can make it hard to talk with family and friends. Without treatment, hearing loss can even lead to loneliness and depression.
That's why it's important to tell your doctor if you're having trouble hearing well—and to know that you have somewhere to turn. At our University Health Audiology Clinic, we can be your first step to better hearing.
Receive a comprehensive hearing test in our audiology clinic
Hearing loss is often related to aging and exposure to loud noises, but it can sometimes have easily treatable causes, like earwax buildup.
To find out what's causing your symptoms, we can provide a complete diagnostic hearing evaluation. We use advanced diagnostics to evaluate the type and degree of hearing loss in each ear.
A hearing evaluation generally takes about 30 minutes.
Choose an audiologist with decades of experience
Arlene Rubin, MA, CCC-A, a highly qualified audiologist who specializes in diagnosing hearing problems, leads our clinic. She has extensive experience helping people with hearing loss. She has worked in audiology for more than 40 years.
Our entire team is well trained and personable.
How we can help improve your hearing
Our audiologist will interpret the findings from your hearing test and recommend further treatment, if needed. If you would benefit from a hearing aid, we can give you a prescription you can take to a hearing aid dealer. We do not provide hearing aids in the audiology clinic.
Some types of hearing loss that we diagnose may need further evaluation by an otolaryngologist. In those cases, we work directly with the University Health Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic, so you can be seen there, if needed. This visit may even take place on the same day as your hearing test in our clinic.
Together, our audiology and ENT (ear, nose and throat) clinics are committed to helping you achieve improved hearing.
