University Health Physicians (UHP) is the physician group practice for the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in conjunction with its major teaching facility. UMKC supports several residencies and the candidate will have teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students. UHP is also the primary physician group for Truman Medical Centers/University Health in Kansas City, MO.


RESPONSIBILITIES
University Health Physicians is seeking a full-time or part-time academic Gastroenterologist to lead in patient care, teaching, and clinical research. The UMKC School of Medicine is a leader in innovative medical education. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Acute care surgeon

University Health Physicians, the physician group practice for the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in conjunction with its major teaching facility, Truman Medical Center (TMC) is seeking a Trauma/Critical Care physician at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.

The selected candidate would be involved in covering general surgery, trauma and the surgical intensive care unit. TMC is an ACS Level 1 and State of Missouri designated Level 1 trauma center and serves the population of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area with a complex mixture of rural and urban trauma. We are also the leader in disaster management for the Kansas City area. UMKC supports several residencies and the candidate will have teaching responsibilities for general surgery residents and medical students.

The preferred candidate should be board-certified in general surgery and have completed a surgical critical care fellowship. They need to be either board-certified or eligible in surgical critical care. Current surgical critical care fellows are encouraged to apply.

Maternal Fetal Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology University of Missouri-Kansas City

University Health Physicians, the academic group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine seeks a BE Maternal Fetal Medicine staff faculty member for the Department of OB/GYN to work at Truman Medical Centers – Hospital Hill and Lakewood in Kansas City, MO. Duties may include providing maternal fetal care at the Fetal Health Center at Children’s Mercy Hospital. In addition to a busy residency program of 32 residents, the Department of OB/GYN has a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship program, a pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship program, and exciting opportunities for research and academic achievement. Academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with background.

Child and adolescent psychiatrist

Emergency Medicine - Faculty

University Health Physicians, the physician group practice for Truman Medical Centers, is recruiting faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. Candidates must be board-certified/board-eligible emergency physicians. All qualified candidates will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates with research experience or fellowship training. Compensation and benefits are competitive.

Truman Medical Center is a level I trauma center and STEMI center. The ED has an annual volume of 62,000 adult patients in a modern, state-of-the-art facility with 48 beds. The Department supports one of the nation’s oldest fully accredited three-year residency programs, with 33 residents. In addition, the Department provides EMS medical direction for the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department and recently founded a Medical Education/Simulation fellowship.

Psychiatrist - Geriatric unit

University Health Physicians and Truman Medical Centers Lakewood are currently seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our medical staff in providing psychiatric coverage of our 16-bed geriatric psychiatric acute care unit.

This position will work as leader of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatry residents, medical students, psychologists, medical social workers, dieticians, nurses and recreation therapists. Other duties will include: helping to cover our inpatient mental health units during physician absences, consultation liaison services to medical center and teaching of psychiatry residents and medical students. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.

The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry (experience in geriatric psychiatry preferred, but not required)
