Academic clinical Chief of Cardiology

University Health Physicians, the academic physician group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time, academic clinical Chief of Cardiology to lead in patient care, teaching, and clinical research. The UMKC School of Medicine is a leader in innovative medical education. The Truman Medical Center Department of Medicine is dedicated to eliminating disparities in health outcomes. The Truman Medical Center Cardiology Division is continuing an exciting expansion of its clinical services. The next leader of that division should have the experience, vision and skills to further those missions. Opportunities exist to collaborate with leaders in epidemiological studies, clinical trials, and outcomes research at UMKC. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Academic obesity medicine – Ambulatory care

Academic staff section of cardiology, Non-invasive cardiologist

The Section of Cardiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, Truman Medical Centers, and University Physician Associates seeks a non-invasive cardiology faculty member (non-tenure track Assistant Professor/Associate Professor). The individual should have the clinical, scholarly, educational, and personal skills to contribute to an active academic section. This position has options for involvement in echocardiography and/or nuclear cardiology if desired by the candidate. Responsibilities involve significant time devoted to resident and fellow education, as well as patient care for a traditionally underserved population. Acute care surgeon

University Health Physicians, the physician group practice for the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in conjunction with its major teaching facility, Truman Medical Center (TMC) is seeking a Trauma/Critical Care physician at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.

The selected candidate would be involved in covering general surgery, trauma and the surgical intensive care unit. TMC is an ACS Level 1 and State of Missouri designated Level 1 trauma center and serves the population of the greater Kansas City metropolitan area with a complex mixture of rural and urban trauma. We are also the leader in disaster management for the Kansas City area. UMKC supports several residencies and the candidate will have teaching responsibilities for general surgery residents and medical students.

The preferred candidate should be board-certified in general surgery and have completed a surgical critical care fellowship. They need to be either board-certified or eligible in surgical critical care. Current surgical critical care fellows are encouraged to apply.

Kansas City, known as the "City of Fountains," is an artistic and cultural gem in the Midwest and a great place to raise a family. BE maternal fetal medicine staff faculty member

University Health Physicians, the academic group practice for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine seeks a BE Maternal Fetal Medicine staff faculty member for the Department of OB/GYN to work at Truman Medical Centers – Hospital Hill and Lakewood in Kansas City, MO. Duties may include providing maternal fetal care at the Fetal Health Center at Children’s Mercy Hospital. In addition to a busy residency program of 32 residents, the Department of OB/GYN has a maternal-fetal medicine fellowship program, a pediatric and adolescent gynecology fellowship program, and exciting opportunities for research and academic achievement. Child and adolescent psychiatrist

Community family medicine faculty position

The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, Truman Medical Center Lakewood and University Health Physicians seek a full-time clinical faculty member for the Department of Community & Family Medicine. The position will include outpatient clinical activities at one of our five clinic locations in the Kansas City, Missouri metro area. Applicants must be board-certified or eligible in Family Medicine. The position is primarily an outpatient clinical practice position, although periodic precepting of medical students is expected. The applicant must be committed to both this teaching and patient care. While obstetrical and inpatient care privileges are welcome, they are not required for the position. Psychiatrist - Geriatric unit

University Health Physicians and Truman Medical Centers Lakewood are currently seeking a full-time geriatric psychiatrist to join our medical staff in providing psychiatric coverage of our 16-bed geriatric psychiatric acute care unit.

This position will work as leader of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatry residents, medical students, psychologists, medical social workers, dietitians, nurses and recreation therapists. Other duties will include: helping to cover our inpatient mental health units during physician absences, consultation liaison services to medical center and teaching of psychiatry residents and medical students. Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.

The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry (experience in geriatric psychiatry preferred, but not required).
