Volunteer Opportunities at TMC Hospital Hill
Kansas Citians from diverse backgrounds find volunteering at TMC Hospital
Hill brings a sense of belonging, accomplishment and satisfaction to their
lives. "I'd like to give back" is a common statement when potential
volunteers contact TMC. Volunteers generally work in one of three types of
volunteer positions: Patient Care Areas, Office Assistance, Auxiliary Gift
Shop. Contact Volunteer Services for a list of current opportunities.
Patient Care Areas—Patient Nutrition Assistance,
Storytime Reader, Patient Comfort Assistance, Spiritual Care Volunteer
Office assistance—Filing, scanning, answering phones,
assembling packets, basic office support
Gift Shop—Provide retail sales support, clerical assistance

volunteers who speak Spanish and English. Please contact the Volunteer

Corporate Volunteers
TMC Hospital Hill is proud to host volunteers from employers throughout
Kansas City. As vital members of the Kansas City community, local
corporations encourage employee volunteer efforts. An outstanding example of
this is Cerner Corporation, with world headquarters in Kansas City. Local
Cerner employees as well as Cerner India employees donate hundreds of
volunteer hours to TMC HH.
Volunteer Your Group
Whether your group is looking for opportunities to sponsor special events
or functions, provide manpower for special projects or join the TMC HH
Auxiliary Sewing Committee, there are many ways that groups can volunteer at
TMC. Opportunities include hosting holiday parties throughout the year,
sponsoring collection drives, or tackling special projects for specific
patient populations.

Volunteer Applications
Print and complete the
Adult Volunteer Application Packet. Instructions
and an explanation of the application process are included in the packet.
Background checks are conducted on all adult volunteers.
Youth Volunteers complete a different application. Print and complete the
Youth Volunteer Application Packet and send to the Volunteer Services
Office.
Volunteering Off Campus
If you would like to become a volunteer for Off
Campus Events, please fill out the
Community Volunteer Profile Form.
If you are a registered TMC Hospital Hill volunteer
and are volunteering at an event off-campus, please access our volunteer
database at the
Hospital Hill Volunteer Information Center. Here you may log in
with your PIN number to record your volunteer hours. if you are a Lakewood
volunteer, go to the
Lakewood Volunteer Information Center.
TMC Youth Volunteers
TMC Hospital Hill is always eager to involve Kansas City's youth in
hospital activities. Our Summer Youth Program welcomes students ages 14-17
for a six week summer program. This is a perfect opportunity for students
interested in spending 3 days a week assisting in a variety of positions
throughout the hospital. Students volunteer in departments such as
Cardiology, OB/GYN, Security, Human Resources, Gift Shop, Charitable
Foundation and work on Special Project Requests.
Volunteer opportunities exist during the school year also. Contact the
Volunteer Office for more information.
Too Young to Volunteer at TMC?
Younger members of the community can still contribute to TMC! If your Cub
Scout, Girl Scout, school or church group would like to volunteer off-site,
we welcome donations of baby booties and socks, books for children, current
magazines and word search puzzles books. Simply contact the Volunteer
Services office to discuss your volunteer project.
