The Infectious Diseases Clinic
is staffed by board-certified infectious diseases physicians, nurse
practitioners and registered nurses with experience in a multitude
of infectious diseases. Consultative care for infectious
diseases is available by appointment with a referral from your
primary care provider.

TMC Hospital Hill’s Infectious Diseases Clinic staff understands
how difficult it can be to live with a chronic illness. It is
our goal to make a positive difference everyday in the lives our
patients. Our services are designed to provide you with access to
HIV providers, specialists for other conditions, medications, case
management, treatment adherence, and other services to help you
manage your health.
TMC has an array of outpatient and inpatient programs and
services to meet the healthcare needs of our HIV-positive patients.
We have specialized programs to help you stick to your plan of care,
manage a chronic illness, and learn the tools necessary to practice
risk reduction.

best in providing HIV care. Our physicians are board-certified
in internal medicine and infectious diseases. As the primary
teaching hospital for the University of Missouri-Kansas City School
of Medicine, our care is based upon the latest scientific

Ryan White Medical Case Management Services
The Ryan White Medical Case Management program is available free
of charge, to individuals living with HIV /AIDS. Case Management is
a client-centered program that links clients with health care and
other services as needed. The primary goal of medical case
management is to work with individuals to connect to and engage in
their medical care.
At Truman Medical Centers, we have 10 medical case managers at
Hospital Hill and one located at Jackson County Health Department.
A medical case manager can assist with a variety of Ryan White
service authorizations including access to Ryan White Primary Care
and AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). Case managers can
help you navigate and understand the healthcare system by offering
support and by being an active member of your medical team.
To enroll in services you must provide the following
documentation: Proof of HIV-status, proof of income, and proof
of residency. You also must be willing to meet with your case
manager at least two times per year and participate in your medical
care.
Case managers and clients meet twice a year to evaluate the
client’s needs and create an individualized plan of care. Case
managers can assist the client in locating and accessing services
such as medical care, medications, mental health and substance abuse
counseling and care, housing and other community resources.
Ryan White Medical Case Managers are located throughout the
Kansas City area in a variety of community settings including local
health departments, hospitals, health clinics and community-based
organizations.
