Passion Teams

Passion Teams were developed to engage members of TMC boards and the community into the funding priorities of the hospital.

These teams are broad-based and seek to involve people through their own level of interest or affinity in the projects/programs/services being funded.

Focused on “friend-raising” and “fund-raising,” teams meet periodically throughout the year to educate the community about TMC and the projects being funded.

Women’s Health

Women’s Health is a major priority for TMC in improving wellness in the community as women make most healthcare-related decisions in the home.  To renew efforts of the Women’s Health Partners’ Council, this team has begun compiling a list of tour prospects. Women’s health encompasses important programs such as OB/GYN, including the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Hospital Hill.

Healing Arts

Art has long been known to aid in the healing process. The Healing Arts at TMC creates a soothing and healing environment for patients, employees and visitors through various programs.  In particular, this program addresses the needs of patients and families, as well as TMC employees as caregivers by improving patient services. This team will work to develop programs for the community to view the collected art works on display throughout the hospital, as well as to enlist the community to donate or lend from their own art collections.

Behavioral Health

TMC has a long track record of support from those who want to help members of our community with mental illness.  This following of support has been developed largely, in part, by the annual Benefit at the Bristol which raises funds for TMC Behavioral Health programs.  This team was instrumental in the success of the 15th anniversary of the Benefit held last year.

Clinical Services

Each year, the hospital undertakes large and small improvements in selected clinical service areas.  This team will work on special projects needing funding in order for TMC to provide excellent care to its patients.  Oncology is the first project to be undertaken by this team.  With a new case statement in hand, the team will create a plan to enlist community support for TMC Oncology services such as Patient Navigator.  Other future projects will include Ophthalmology and Cardiology.

Community Wellness and Chronic Disease

Following an organizational structure change, TMC has undertaken this major focal point of its long range strategic direction to focus on community wellness and chronic disease management.  “Guided Chronic Care” will become a core part of TMC’s essential service delivery system.  Employee wellness is critical to community wellness as we seek to be a role model to the community in disease prevention behaviors.  This team will work closely with specific communities served by TMC to build awareness and support.
