Benefit at the Bristol
a Record-Setting Success

Led by event chairs, Susie & Spence Heddens, and honorary chairs, Jean & Bill Dunn Sr., the 13th Annual Benefit at the Bristol presented by Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc., was a stellar success as a crowd of more than 390 gathered at the Bristol Seafood Grill.

Guests enjoyed meeting Kansas City Chiefs’ Center Rudy Niswanger and his family while hearing the sounds of the John Doubleday Trio featuring Millie Edwards.

Guests also celebrated with Jerry Tilzer and Marketshare Publications (Ellen & Lee Payne) who were the individual and corporate winners of the 2008 Behavioral Health Awards. This award is given annually for contributions to mental health awareness.

In addition to this being the second largest crowd in the history of the event, it was also the largest fundraising year since the benefit began in 1996. The Charitable Foundation raised more than $182,000 for the event, including significant gifts from presenting sponsor Waddell & Reed Financial, Inc., and sustaining patron The Bristol Seafood Grill. In total, 64 sponsors supported the event.
