    TMC Behavioral Health delivers services through community outreach clinics in the Kansas City metropolitan area as well as at our main location in the Crossroads Art District. Our unique role as a hospital-based mental health center supports a whole-person, integrated health model of service delivery that is increasingly the standard of best practice for healthcare.

  • Birthplace

    Your comfort, your care and the care of your baby is our upmost concern when you deliver your baby. Twenty home-like suites are designed for mothers-to-be and their new additions to provide a feeling of comfort.  The Birthplace has specially designed birthing beds and reclining chairs that change into a bed to accommodate a guest.  A private bathroom is also available with each suite.

  • Emergency Care

    The Level One Trauma Center at Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill consists of a team of medical professionals specially trained in treating trauma and critical care injuries. Trauma surgeons and other members of the trauma team are in the hospital 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

    Physicians in specialties ranging from neurosurgery to OB/GYN are on standby, and nursing teams are ready in the operating room and critical care unit as well.     Truman Medical Centers became one of the first hospitals in the United States to install the Siemens SOMATOM Definition AS 128 slice CT scanner. The scanner has been developed with all the latest technological advances in the world of Computed Tomography.  Some of these advances include the Adaptive Dose Shielding technology which eliminates unnecessary radiation exposure to the patient through the pre- and post-scan range.  This means that the only radiation dose the patient is exposed to will be for clinically relevant imaging.

    Lakewood Care Center provides residents access to acute and specialty care services on site. A Board Certified Geriatric Specialist serves as the full-time Medical Director, overseeing all patient care services.

This 188-bed fully accredited long-term care center provides each resident with a fully furnished room and bath.  A dedicated 20-bed Alzheimer's/Dementia Unit for female residents is located within the care center as well. Residents experience 24 hour nursing care.
