Continuing Medical Education Program
Welcome to Truman Medical Centers’ Department of Continuing
Medical Education Website. Nationally accredited by the
Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, our goal
is to present the latest information gained from current
research for physicians and other healthcare providers and to
help them translate that new knowledge into their everyday
practice. The ultimate beneficiaries of the Continuing Medical
Education program are the participants’ patients.
Truman Medical Centers sponsor various learning opportunities
for medical professionals. We work in collaboration with the
clinical departments of Truman Medical Centers and other
health-related organizations, including our affiliated Medical
School, the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Sponsored
activities are targeted to physicians around the world who
practice within the specialties recognized by the American
Medical Association. Recognizing the benefits to be gained from
interdisciplinary forums, Truman Medical Centers’ Continuing
Medical Education activities are available, as appropriate, to
other healthcare professionals, residents and students.
Truman Medical Centers’ Continuing Medical Education
activities include specialty topic areas of General Internal
Medicine and its subspecialties, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics
and Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Surgery, and Radiology.
Non-clinical educational topics include Ethics, Diversity,
Computer Technology, Teaching Medical Students and Research.
Faculty conducting Continuing Medical Education activities
include highly respected physicians from local universities,
well-renowned educators from many of the country’s prestigious
academic entities and higher education academies around the
world. Reaching beyond the boundaries of Truman Medical Centers,
conferences have been directly and jointly sponsored both
nationally and internationally in such places as New York,
