2008 TruFriends Philanthropy Project
In 2008 TruFriends once again partnered with the Fashion for a Cause committee to jointly raise funds for the 2008 event.
TruFriends members gave and solicited sponsorship support for the event which was a benefit for the TMC Hospital Hill Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Proceeds from this year’s event supported:
- Cardiac Monitors which provide portable monitoring of the babies.
- Corometrics Fetal Monitors which provide detail monitoring information to clinicians for the mother and fetus throughout labor, delivery and recovery;
- Medfusion Syringe Pumps that allow staff to infuse medication at a meticulously low volume; and
- Phototherapy Beds and Phototherapy Lights used for the treatment of jaundice.
TruFriends raised more than $43,000 in sponsorships. In addition, TruFriends gave leadership to a new feature at this year’s FFAC event—a Fund-A-Need…a live auction before the show began. This effort raised an additional $11,650. In total, TruFriends raised $55,000 for this year’s event—representing a nearly $25% increase over their 2007 philanthropy project.
Previous philanthropy projects have included funds for infant warmers and
isolettes, laundry facilities for TMC Behavioral Health New Frontiers
program and Fashion for a Cause.
