Truman Medical Centers Behavioral Health (TMC BH) is the mental health and substance abuse treatment component of Truman Medical Centers, Inc. TMC BH provides a comprehensive array of mental health and substance abuse treatment to persons living in the Kansas City MO metropolitan area. Our services are available at TMC Hospital Hill and TMC Lakewood campuses as part of each hospital’s offerings. Mental health treatment provided by TMC BH is based on the unique strengths, needs and experiences of each individual to whom services are provided.

TMC BH believes that mental health is an important part of overall health care. Our outpatient services are an integrated part of treatment provided by TMC Hospital Hill clinics and the emergency departments of both TMC Hospital Hill and TMC Lakewood. TMC BH’s primary location on Hospital Hill makes it easy for most clients to access primary and mental health care at one location. Specialized services are available at satellite clinics that are conveniently located near the Hospital Hill and Lakewood campuses.

TMC BH also provides inpatient psychiatric treatment for adults at TMC Hospital Hill and TMC Lakewood. All of our mental health services are aimed at assisting clients in managing the symptoms of their illness and in improving functioning in their day-to-day lives. Our services also provide the support many persons with mental illness need to regain a sense of meaning and purpose in life.
